Questions about Being on Council
Have any questions about being on Council, such as time spent, how many Boards and Committees, what your duties look like, if this will impact your Monday to Friday job? Ask your questions here. Answers will be shared to our Facebook page Thursday, August 20th.
What do you need to run for Council? Before August 21, 2026 at 2pm, visit with the Municipal Clerk and bring the following:
- Form 1 - Nomination Paper. (Pick up at 320 Portage Avenue).
- Form 2 - Endorsement of Nomination, endorsed by at least 25 people who are eligible to vote in our municipal election. (Pick up at 320 Portage Avenue).
- Identification showing name, qualifying address and signature.
- Applicable filing fee, $200 for Mayor, $100 for all others. The fee must be paid in cash, debit card, certified cheque or money order.
- You will have additional paperwork to complete at the appointment (Consent to Release Personal Information, Declaration of Qualifications, etc. All will be explained to you by the Clerk.)
Please note that any inappropriate questions or irrelevant questions may not be answered. This form's responses are only being checked for purposes of answering questions about being on Council and will not be forwarded to departments.
