Rainy Lake Square

We are now accepting applications for the Rainy Lake Square Market Thursdays! We want to provide the community a marketplace that encourages patrons to support a ‘Buy Local’ philosophy and we are looking forward to another exciting season!

Settled on Scott Street (our busy shopping street full of foot traffic) is the beautiful Rainy Lake Square: the perfect area to host our outdoor markets during the warmer months.

Last year the Town of Fort Frances announced implementing a small fee for the 2024 Market seasion. The Fee to participate is $10 +HST per day, or $50 +HST for the season.

This cost is reflective of the expense to give vendors blanket business licencing and general liability insurance for the event, and will stay minimal so vendors have equitable access without financial burden. We want to encourage our vendors of all ages to succeed in their ventures.

The fee also covers access to water, access to electricity, staff labour to assist with setting up tables and tents, and advertising for the market.

About being a vendor:

First, you may want to take a look at the Rainy Lake Market Map to see the layout.

To be an eligible vendor, you have to be one of the following:

  • Maker
  • Grower
  • Farmer
  • Service Provider
  • Curator of Quality Goods
  • Artisan who sells their own brand, creations, or handmade/grown items

Table spots are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis, determined by the order in which vendors submit their contracts and complete full payment. We encourage all to register as soon as possible if you're planning on booking a table.

Attention food vendors:
