2024 Flushing - WESSUC, Inc. will be cleaning sewer mains for the Town from May 1 - May 14, 2024.

If you are living on one of the streets indicated on the map, you should take the following precautions to prevent possible water damage to your home.

Steps you must take before sewer main cleaning and inspection:

Occasionally during cleaning and inspection, air pressure in the sewer can cause water to splash out of your toilets, sinks and drains. Please take the following precautions to prevent water damage in your home:

  1. Close lids and cover toilet bowls when not in use.
  2. Insert drain plugs in all sinks and bathtubs when not in use.
  3. Remove all floor mats in bathrooms.
  4. Cover all basement floor drains.

You may put things back as they were when the equipment has moved off your street.

During and after sewer main cleaning and inspection:

Sometimes the sewer main cleaning and inspection leaves an odor in the home. If so, run some water down all sink and bathtub drains, flush toilets, pour a pail of water into each basement floor drain and open your windows. After a short time the odor should disappear.

Every precaution will be taken to minimize interruptions to the normal living of your family, office and business.
