2026 Mayor's Budget Request Form

As of May 1^st, 2025, the Province of Ontario expanded strong mayor powers for several municipalities in Ontario, including the Town of Fort Frances. Visit https://fortfrances.ca/strongmayorpowers for information on Strong Mayor powers.

Under the new authority, Mayor Hallikas is responsible for preparing and proposing a budget to the Council, which Council can amend. Mayor Hallikas aims to deliver the 2026 budget to Council on January 15^th, 2026.

To facilitate informed budget preparation, Mayor Hallikas is asking service groups or organizations who would like to make a budget request from the Municipality to complete this form by September 17^th, 2025.

Notice of Collection of Personal Information

Personal information contained in this correspondence is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001 and will be used by the Town of Fort Frances to confirm the authenticity of the submission and to support consideration of the matter by Council.

Submissions may be made available to the public as part of the official Council agenda. Agendas published online will have personal contact information redacted; however, unredacted copies may be available for viewing in-person or upon request, in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), R.S.O. 1990, c. M.56.
