WHEREAS by the virtue of the Franco-Ontarian Day Act, which was legislated on April 26th, 2010, it is declared that September 25th of each year be recognized as Franco-Ontarian Day throughout the province of Ontario; and

WHEREAS The federal government has passed legislation to make September 30th a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This important day gives an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about the history of Residential Schools in Canada.

In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Town of Fort Frances will hold a special flag raising ceremony at the Civic Centre on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. 

Mayor Andrew Hallikas, Members of Council and Town staff will join members of the Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre for the flag raising.

Notice is hereby given that the following Special Meetings of Council has been called in accordance with the Procedural By-Law and the Municipal Act to be held in the Council Chambers, located at 320 Portage Ave Fort Frances, ON and or (Virtual)
 
The purpose of the Meeting is for Members of Council and Senior Staff to participate in a Strategic Planning session to guide the work of the municipality for the next four years.
