- If you are wanting a religious marriage officiant, you may request a list of names from the Clerks Department.
- The Town of Fort Frances Marriage Officiants only perform civil, non-secular/non-spiritual marriage ceremonies.

The Town of Fort Frances offers welcoming, inclusive, and personalized wedding ceremonies for couples looking to make it official. We’re proud to support all couples legally able to marry in Ontario.

Marriage Licence
Before you say “I do,” you’ll need a valid Ontario Marriage Licence.
Cost: $153.00
No tax is applied.
Ceremony Options
All ceremonies include a required $113 administrative fee, applied once per booking.
Choose from a variety of ceremony styles and locations:
Civic Centre Ceremony (During Office Hours): Please inquire - changes each year.
A simple and quick ceremony held at the Civic Centre.
After Hours/Outside Fort Frances Limits Ceremony: Please inquire - changes each year.
For couples wanting a unique ceremony beyond our regular hours or outside town limits.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $661.50
Pop-Up Elopement Day (or Vow Renewal): $234.00
A fun, budget-friendly ceremony at a pop-up location hosted by the Town.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $500.00
If Vow Renewal, price reduced : $347.00
Office Marriage: $84.00
A quick, no-frills legal ceremony, no exchanging of rings, legal wording only, during office hours - you bring the witnesses.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $350.00

Mileage:
If your ceremony is outside Fort Frances, mileage fees apply based on CRA rates.
Council Chambers Rental (Optional)
For outside officiants only, our Council Chambers are available to rent:
1 Hour: $56.50
4 Hours: $141.25
Full Day: $282.50
