Emergency Plans
The aim of the Town of Fort Frances Emergency Plan is to make provision for extraordinary arrangements and measures that may have to be taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Town of Fort Frances when faced with an emergency.
The Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) for the Town of Fort Frances is responsible and accountable for the development and implementation of the Town’s emergency management program in accordance with Provincial regulations.
On the first Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m. the Town tests the emergency sirens. The emergency sirens are utilized to notify the citizens of Fort Frances of emergency situations that warrant immediate action. Such occurrences include tornado warnings and critical industrial/transportation incidents. Should you hear the emergency sirens, tune to B93 FM (93.1) and listen for instructions. DO NOT CALL YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES OR THE RADIO STATION FOR INFORMATION. Only call if it is an emergency situation.
The Town of Fort Frances produces a Town map detailing evacuation centres and routes. This and other information on Emergency Measures is available at the Fort Frances Fire & Rescue Service or Town Office.
