Tree Planting

In order for property owners to plant trees on the Town’s R.O.W. and/or Boulevards, property owners are required to write a letter to Gabrielle Lecuyer, glecuyer@fortfrances.ca, (807) 274-5323 ext 1215, Town Clerk requesting permission.

CN Railway Crossing - McIrvine Road

CN has advised that under normal circumstances the maximum time that vehicle traffic can be delayed by a stopped train is 5 minutes.  If the public would like to report wait times longer than 5 minutes they should do so by calling the Local CN Supervisor at 274-1923 and provide the following information:  date, time, engine number, direction travelling etc. Once the Operations and Facilities Division receives 5 complaints CNR will be contacted.  CNR Contact Number 807-274-1923

The Public Works Department Employs a Total of 24 Unionized Employees and 5 Management Employees. Management Employees consist of:

  • Manager of Operations and Facilities
  • Transportation Superintendent
  • Environmental Superintendent
  • Asset Management Coordinator
  • One (1) Secretary / Receptionist

Unionized Employees consist of:

  • 1 Foreman
  • 1 Leadhand
  • 2 Mechanics
  • 1 GIS Person
  • 1 Storeskeeper
  • 3 Equipment Operators
  • 2 Truck Drivers
  • 7 Labourers
  • 3 Certified Water Treatment Plant Operators
  • 2 Certified Water Distribution Workers
  • 1 Waste Water Collection Worker.

NOTE: Part-Time staff is employed during the summer months.
